Hadestown: Teen Edition took audiences on a journey to the underworld in July 2026, bringing Anaïs Mitchell's acclaimed folk-opera to the Corn Exchange stage. Blending mythology, music and powerful storytelling, the show followed the intertwined journeys of Orpheus, Eurydice, Hades and Persephone in a world where hope, love and resilience were constantly tested.

With its atmospheric score, striking visual storytelling and ambitious themes, Hadestown presented a new challenge for our Youth Theatre performers, and they rose to it magnificently. From the opening number to the final curtain call, the cast demonstrated exceptional commitment, teamwork and creativity, developing not only as performers but also as a company.

We were particularly proud of the dedication shown throughout the rehearsal process. Alongside learning a demanding script and score, our young performers embraced opportunities to help promote the production, creating social media content and sharing their enthusiasm for the show through TikTok and other online platforms. Their energy, talent and willingness to get involved helped make the production a genuine team effort both on and off the stage.

The result was a powerful and memorable production that showcased the remarkable abilities of our Youth Theatre members.
