Vintage Hitchcock provided a completely different theatrical challenge for BTP in September 2025. Presented as a staged radio play, the production recreated three classic Hitchcock thrillers live on stage, requiring a very different style of performance from our cast. With scripts in hand, live sound effects and a storytelling-focused approach, the actors had to rely on vocal characterisation, timing and atmosphere to bring the stories to life.

The cast rose magnificently to the occasion, mastering a variety of accents and adapting to this unique acting technique. The format demanded precision, versatility and imagination, and the performers embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, creating suspense, humour and drama through their voices and character work.

The production was also a wonderful social occasion, presented as a wine and cheese evening in partnership with Yellow Submarine. Audiences enjoyed an entertaining and immersive night of theatre while supporting an important local charity. Vintage Hitchcock demonstrated the versatility of BTP's performers and offered something refreshingly different for both cast and audience, proving that great storytelling can take many forms.
